The TCCC Crosses the Institute of Medicine’s Quality Chasm

A review article published in April of 2014 described the TCCC as an “innovative web-based program” with the potential to improve the quality of healthcare delivery.  The article discussed how the TCCC addresses the challenges to efficient healthcare delivery.   These challenges, such as the increasing complexity of technology, and an inadequate system of healthcare delivery, were outlined by the Institute of Medicine (IOM) in a report called “Crossing the Quality Chasm.” The TCCC was found to overcome many of these challenges through its use of information technology and its helpful features, such as instantaneous access to laboratory and pathology results and automated disease staging.
